I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Mathematical Institute at the University of Oxford, where I am a member of the Topology Group. My position is funded by a Walter Benjamin Fellowship from the German Research Foundation (DFG). As of October 2022 I am also a Junior Research Fellow at St Edmund Hall.

My research interests include higher structures in algebra, geometry and topology, homotopy theory and functorial field theories. I am also interested in the interaction of these areas with physics, such as in quantum field theory, string theory and topological phases of matter.

Before coming to Oxford, I was a postdoc in the Department of Mathematics at Hamburg University in the group of Christoph Schweigert. I did my Ph.D. in Mathematics at Heriot-Watt University, supervised by Richard Szabo and Christian Sämann and did both my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics at the Leibniz University of Hanover.
