1.Meeting: 30. November 2001 in Warwick

Part I: Polynomial functors in algebra and topology - introduction and survey (use [F1], [K1] and some of the other papers, eg [K3]). And a detailed example of an injective object in this category ([K3], relating to work of Doty, Kovacs and Krop and giving evidence for the still open `artinian conjecture').

2:00 -- 2:45: Maud De Visscher and Rowena Paget
An introduction to the category $\Cal{F}(q)$.

2:45 -- 3:30: Miles Holloway
The structure of the fundamental injective.

3:30 -- 4:30: Tea and coffee break

4:30 -- 5:15: Alison Parker
Polynomial functors and Schur algebras.

5:15 -- 6:00: Karin Erdmann
Polynomial functors in algebraic K-theory and cohomology.

Afterwards: Pub/Dinner

The talks take place in lecture room MI-1. To find your way to the first talk, you alternatively can meet us before 2:00 in the Mathematical Common Room in the Mathematical Department in Warwick.

After the talks we plan to go for a drink and dinner. To organise the restaurant please email Anne Henke by Wednesday 28.11 if you wish to participate in the dinner.
