Natasha K Martin (née Li)
I am a postgraduate researcher at the University of Bristol (Department of Social Medicine), and an honorary research fellow at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (Department of Global Health and Development) where I work in collaboration with Professor Matthew Hickman and Dr. Peter Vickerman. My research at Bristol/LSHTM centres on the potential of hepatitis C antiviral treatment as prevention amongst injecting drug users. I also work with Dr. Ashley Pitcher on using optimal control in public health interventions.
I am also an academic visitor at the Centre for Mathematical Biology, University of Oxford, where I completed my DPhil in 2009. At Oxford I work with Professor Philip Maini and Dr. Eamonn Gaffney. We work in collaboration with Dr. Robert Gatenby and Dr. Robert Gillies at the Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute, and also Dr. Ian Robey at the University of Arizona. My research at Oxford focuses on mathematical models of tumor invasion and metastasis, competition and cooperation in the tumour microenvironment, tumour acidity, and buffer therapy.
Previously, as an undergraduate at Stanford University, I worked on phenotypic plasticity in barnacles, as well as a mathematical model of leukemia.
