Academic Experience

Thank you for visiting my homepage. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher working
with Dr. Apala Majumdar and Dr. Radek Erban at OCCAM of the University of Oxford.
We use finite difference method, Monte Carlo method, and bifurcation analysis to study
the bistable switching of liquid crystals.

Before I came to Oxford, I obtained my PhD degree from the University of Minnesota.
I worked with Prof. Maria-Carme Calderer on finite element simulation of liquid crystal
elastomer. I also obtained a Master degree in Biostatistics, working with Prof. Wei Pan
on penalized regression.

Before I went to Minnesota, I spent 7 years in Peking University for both my Bachelor
of Science and Master of Science degrees in Computational Mathematics. My Master thesis
advisor was Prof. Pingwen Zhang, and my thesis was on analysis and numerical simulation
of complex fluids.
