Data sets

NH3 Laser data set (Santa Fe prediction competition) This data set contains the output power of a NH3 laser whose dynamics are associated with the Lorenz-Haken equations [Haken, 1975]. This dataset was collected by Hubner et al. [Hubner, 1993]. The noise level is taken to be below the resolution of an (8 bit) analogue to digital converter.

NMR Laser data set
This data set contains data from a stroboscopic cross section of the output power of a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) laser operated at ETH Zurich [Flepp, 1991]. The lasing particles are Al atoms in a ruby crystal, and the quality factor of the resonant structure is modulated periodically. Output power of the laser is reflected in the voltage across the antenna (thus allowing for negative values).

Electronic circuit data set
The data consists of a time series of voltages with a sampling time of 20 seconds. Each data point is stated to 3 digit accuracy and it is believed that the observational uncertainty is dominated by truncation error at this level. This dataset was collected by Abarbanel and Rulkov (see [Rulkov, 1994] and [Abarbanel, 2000]).

Cardiac interval data sets reflecting the time intervals between consecutive heart beats over a period of approximately 24 hours.
Normal Sinus Rhythm (NSR) RR intervals
RR interval file from subject nsr001 of the Physionet NSR database.
Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) RR intervals
RR interval file from subject chf201 of the Physionet CHF database.
Note that this interbeat data was extracted using the program for converting annotation files to RR intervals called ann2rr. Examples of how to do this are given in the following tutorial.
