Research Information

My research is focused on providing links between the fundamental aspects of the mechanics of the continua and the formation of patterns to their applications towards the understanding of the physics of biological systems. I ground my ideas on the key aspect that a structure, a tissue or, in general, a device, has a function that is related to both the material of which is made and its shape: in order to make insights on behaviour of the system under analysis is than important to understand both its constitutive aspects and how to design, or to control, its shape.
