Welcome to the Postgraduate Group Theory Conference 2008, which will take place at the University of Oxford, between the 9th and 11th of April 2008. The plenary speakers are Doctor Nikolay Nikolov and Professor Christopher Parker. For more information, please visit the speakers page.

The PGTC is a student-organized conference, in which postgraduates from UK universities can meet and exchange ideas, and get an idea of just what research is being done by research students throughout the country. It is meant as an informal atmosphere, and all attendees are encouraged (but by no means forced) to give a talk. These will last twenty minutes, with a short time set aside afterward for a few questions.

Closer to the date of the conference, more detailed plans as to the exact timings of the conference will be released. This needs to wait until the numbers of attendees is (almost) finalized, in which case the number of talks will be (almost) finalized.

This conference is partially supported by a London Mathematical Society Scheme 1 grant.
