Midterm 1a took place during the lecture period on Wednesday the 4th of February, and Midterm 1b on Friday the 13th. The total mark for midterm 1 is the sum of the marks for 1a and 1b.
You were expected to be familiar with the material we had covered by the end of January, i.e. in the first 4 weeks of the course.
The sample midterm is provided as a rough indication of the format and difficulty of the midterm. Thanks to its author, Bradd Hart, for allowing me to use it.
Here are some review problems, exercises from the book covering the material you are expected to know for the midterm. You should also consider the assignment 2 questions as appropriate review questions, so may want to do those first. - Chapter 1: 34; - Chapter 2: 6; 9; 16; 28; 37; 43; 53; 61; 64 - Chapter 3: 5; 16; 18; 27 - Chapter 4: 8; 13; 16; 24; 25; 43
