I am currently a postdoc at the Mathematical Institute of the Unviersity of Oxford, working with Heather Harrington, exploring connections between computational algebraic geometry, biological models, identifiability of PDEs and topological data analysis. Before coming to Oxford, I was a postdoc at the Max Plack Institute for Informatics in Germany, and prior to that, I was a postdoc at the Lorraine Research Laboratory in Computer Science and its Applications (LORIA), France. During my work with my mentor, Thomas Sturm, in France, I first realised that computer algebra can be applied to real world systems and I followed this direction along with working on computational algebra. Before that, I was a postdoc at the University of Waterloo, Canada. I completed my PhD at the Research Institute for Symbolic Computations in Austria in 2015 under the supervision of Bruno Buchberger, the inventor of Gröbner basis. During my PhD studies, I spent a term in UC Berkeley under a Marshall Plan scholarship, and another term in Centre de Recerca Matematica, Barcelona, with a DevMath scholarship. I studied mathematics at the Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, as an undergraduate student.
